The online rating system is used by many people to ventilate their satisfaction and dissatisfactions about businesses such as retail, hotels, restaurants, services provided and the like. If a person really likes the customer service or the food where they have just eaten they will normally give the person or business a positive review and the business or person appreciates the nice gesture however, if there is a tiny slip up with a meal or the sales person doesn't get around to acknowledge a customer waiting for service due to being busy with other customers that business will get a negative review. It's a system that is embraced by some and hated by others. This blog will concentrate on those consumers who will go out of their way to ventilate their frustrations and bitterness online about a particular business or service that they have used and perceived as bad. Before I go into the negative rating and reviews I must ask "Why is there not a system for rating consumers"? Seems a little unfair to only rate and review businesses and services. Is the online rating system dismissing the fact that there are some consumers who lie, deceive, steal, exaggerate, make false claims, cry poor, have unrealistic expectations, who are indecent, racist, prejudice, judgemental, opinionated, extremists, superficial, lacking confidence, obese, poor communicators, lack self esteem, lacking in empathy, insecure and have self belief that the sun shines out of their arse? I think the answer is yes. The online rating system only favours consumer reviews and neglects a system whereby businesses and services can have there say about certain abhorrent consumers. I believe I speak for all businesses when I say some consumers are painful. The reason being is some consumers think they deserve perfection because they are paying for it. A western ideology that has become an idea that people/consumers have certain rights to great service, clothing, food, clean hotel sheets is more of a privilege rather than a consumer right. I don't doubt that there are some shonky businesses out there and some consumers do receive bad items or service. I personally have been a victim receiving faulty bathroom items from Renovation Boys in Sydney and having the Dept of Fair Trading dismiss my claim because I could not prove that the items were faulty prior to arrival. I'm referring to those who lack any integrity and decency about themselves and feel so self important by giving businesses a spray online in an attempt to fulfill some deranged void in their lives. These people are modern day cowards who hide behind their cyber reviews in the comfort of their homes and contribute nothing other than their inept ability to resolve their problems. This world needs less of people like you. Add Comment |
